Patrol

Becoming a lifesaver is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself, your family and the community. Not only are you keeping the public safe on the beach, you are also building bonds and friendships that last a lifetime.

To become a lifesaver the first award you need to gain is the Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Aquatic Rescue. You have to be 15 years of age for this award. The Bronze Course takes 6 to 8 weeks to complete and includes the ability to swim in both the pool and the surf, knowledge of rescue techniques, first aid, resuscitation, radios and general life saving methodology.

Once this valid and vital qualification is gained we ask you to volunteer some of your time to be put on a patrol roster with like-minded people to help patrol our beach.

Being a lifesaver is not only about patrolling it is also about keeping a fit and active life, being part of team and pushing your limits as a competitor. We have qualified coaches and a gym to help you keep in shape and will help and support you if you wish to compete against other lifesavers in carnivals throughout the state, country or just locally.
